The staff nominates deserving students each month on the basis of classroom performance, attendance, punctuality, citizenship, personal growth, and contribution to the school and community.
The Student of the Month for March is Francisco Martinez!
The Student of the Month for April is Xochitl Gutierrez!
Other nominees were: Sandra Carrillo, Natalyn De La Rosa, Mariah Mortenson, Efrain Murillo, Dylan Turner and Claudia Vierya.

Beginning April 11th and continuing through June 2nd all students in grades 3-5, 6-8 and 11 will be taking computer based assessments that measure student knowledge of California’s English language arts (ELA) and mathematics standards. Parents will receive a written report of their child’s scores during the summer.
In addition, students in grades 5, 8, and 10 will be taking the familiar STAR test but ONLY in Science. Parents or guardians will also receive a written report of their child’s scores on this science test. As always, the scores will not affect a child’s grades.
If you do not want your student to take any or all of the state mandated tests, please contact your principal to make an appointment to discuss the waiver process. Waiver applications appear below.
Please use the following attachments in order to request your child not participate in state mandated testing. Please print and return to the Live Oak High School office.
