SchoolLoop & Home Access Center

Parents and Students (mensaje en español),

AUSD is pleased to offer two complementary web-based services to enhance communication between home and school. Information about both may be found on the school and District webpage . SchoolLoop provides webpages to teachers that make available current information from the classroom including course syllabus, handouts and classroom activities. Self-registry for SchoolLoop is available on the school homepage. Home Access Center(HAC), which is separate and part of the Student Information System, allows parents and students to view schedules, attendance, assignments, report cards and other data related to school records - including grades. You may have received user name and password information at registration time for the Home Access Center. If not, please contact your child’s school for assistance. We look forward to working together as a team to advance student achievement. Thank you.

STAR Testing Information

Again, this spring, all students in grades 2-11 will be taking standardized tests, either the California Standards Test (CST), California Modified Assessments (CMA) or the California Alternative Performance Assessment (CAPA) as part of the STAR program. Teachers will receive a written report of the test results for all of their students.  Parents or guardians will receive a written report of their child’s scores.  The test information will provide a snapshot of the progress your child is making in mastering the California standards.  The scores will not affect a child’s grades.  This information may be helpful in discussing your child’s goals and objectives.  This information is also useful in deciding if students would benefit from special programs such as gifted and talented, summer school, etc.  The results of the STAR are also used to determine if your child’s school meets accountability goals of the federal law of No Child Left Behind (NCLB). It is very important that each student is tested to help meet these goals. If you do not want your student to take the STAR, contact an administrator at your school to make appointment to discuss the waiver process.
